DeWolff CMS Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 22, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how this CMS environment (“the CMS”, “we”, “our”, “us”) handles information when administrators use features that integrate with the YouTube Data API Services. This CMS is accessible only to authenticated administrators of the website and is not intended for public use.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of the YouTube-related features within the CMS.

1. Use of YouTube API Services

The CMS uses YouTube API Services to retrieve public information about YouTube videos for administrative and content-management purposes.

By using CMS features that rely on YouTube API Services, you acknowledge and agree to the YouTube Terms of Service:
https://www.youtube.com/t/terms

You also acknowledge that the Google Privacy Policy applies:

2. What Information We Access

When you use the YouTube-related functionality in the CMS, we may access the following publicly available YouTube data:

  • Video titles
  • Video descriptions
  • Channel names
  • Thumbnails
  • Video IDs
  • Other public metadata returned by the YouTube Data API

This information is retrieved dynamically from YouTube and is not personal data about you.

3. What Information We Collect, Store, or Process

This CMS integration does NOT:

  • Collect or store any personal information about administrators
  • Collect or store end-user data
  • Collect analytics, tracking data, or behavioral data
  • Store or handle OAuth authorization tokens
  • Access YouTube user accounts
  • Access private videos or private user information

The only information that may be stored temporarily is:

  • The YouTube API key, stored securely inside the CMS configuration
  • (Optional) Cached public YouTube video metadata to improve performance

No personal data is collected, stored, processed, or transferred.

4. How We Use Information

Any data retrieved via the YouTube Data API is used solely for:

  • Displaying YouTube video metadata inside the CMS
  • Allowing administrators to manage or reference video content
  • Improving usability for editors and content creators

We do not use the data for:

  • Advertising
  • Analytics
  • User profiling
  • Selling or sharing data with third parties
  • Combining it with other datasets

5. Sharing of Information

We do not share any CMS data or YouTube API–retrieved information with:

  • Third parties
  • External service providers
  • Any advertising or analytics platforms

YouTube Data API responses remain inside the CMS and are used only by authenticated administrators.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

The YouTube API integration itself does not set cookies.

However, WordPress may set session or authentication cookies required for normal CMS operation.
No additional cookies or tracking technologies are used for YouTube API functionality.

7. Authorization Tokens

This CMS:

  • Does not request OAuth authorization
  • Does not store OAuth tokens
  • Does not act on behalf of a YouTube user account

If OAuth functionality is added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and administrators will be notified.

8. Data Retention

Since no personal data is collected or stored:

  • No user data retention applies
  • Cached YouTube metadata (if used) may be stored temporarily for performance
  • The API key is stored until an administrator updates or deletes it

9. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect configuration data (including API keys), including:

  • Restricting access to authenticated CMS administrators
  • Following WordPress security practices
  • Limiting API usage to administrator-only pages

10. Administrator Rights

Since no personal information is collected or processed, there are no personal data rights applicable under GDPR or similar laws.

If you believe this is incorrect or if you want clarification, contact the site owner or CMS administrator.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Updates will be posted in the CMS or on the dedicated Privacy Policy page.
